Hi there all players , parents and supporters of the BTH Raiders.

By the time you read this message you all would have seen the wonderful new club Hoodies we very proudly have been able to supply every registered player in the club free of charge. It has been a long term plan to make this happen and the result has been worth the wait. Seeing so many young and not so young players running around the local area in their hoodies makes you feel very much a part of a community focused club and acts as a big bonding effect on us all. Not often are we able to provide such a well received gift and the fact that we can is the direct result of a lot of hard work done by a devoted and dedicated group of unselfish people. Back in 2006 the club suffered a fire at Wyatt that resulted in the club loosing all it’s club gear and it’s entire playing strip. The financial loss was massive for a small club however through the generosity of many people the club was able to recover. One of those generous supporters was the Bayfield family owners of the then President Hotel.  Since the fire I have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to develop a strong and meaningful relationship with the Bayfield family. There is of course an obvious and real commercial aspect that is attached to our working relationship. However the truth is the BTH Raiders are the major beneficiaries of this hopefully long term working relationship resulting in things like “The Great Hoodie Giveaway” becoming a reality. The Pub Raffle was another by product of the Bayfield relationship and it is a major reason the BTH Raiders club has been able to fully fund and successfully make happen for all players the “The Great Hoodie Giveaway “ in season 2009. The cost of giveaway items such as the hoodies form no part of any club registration fee and are fully funded by activities like the Pub Raffle. If you and your children like the hoodie idea and want to see other similar events happen in the future then it would be another great idea and reason for you all to make a sincere and concerted effort individually or in teams to support the 6pm Thursday evening raffle whenever possible.  The Pub Raffle generates very considerable funds that the committee of the club have the intention to make available for certain worthwhile projects. Our attitude is to plough as much of these funds back into the club while at the same time helping support all our players and parents as they enjoy their Raiders experience. Up to now Robbie Hatcher, Margy Kane and their team of hard workers ( mostly committee people ) have been the driving force behind the raffle but they cannot do it forever on their own without the help and support of everyone in the club.  The over riding responsibility of all club members is to support the Belrose Hotel Raffle. This will ensure it remains successful to the ongoing benefit of the club and it’s members We cannot and will not continue to leave this responsibility in the hands of just a few otherwise the lack of overall club support will see The Raffle not be as successful and not deliver the expected financial benefits to the club and it’s members. Down the track in 2010 your help and support will be called upon to change and better this situation.    On behalf of the clubs committee and myself I sincerely hope you all enjoy your club gift of the warm and cuddly hoodie and that you also enjoy the rest of your season with the BTH Raiders Soccer Club. Please remember to support what is required to generate the type of funds used to make the hoodie idea and any other similar good ideas come true. So buy your tickets & SUPPORT THE PUB RAFFLE Thursday evenings 6pm to 7pm.

Thanks & Regards
Neville DrakePresident BTH Raiders  15th June 2009.
