Under 11/1 Blades
U11/1 BTH Blades 2 Wakehurst Iguanas 4
The Blades put in one of their best shifts of the season, and the best in the top division, against Wakehurst’s top team.
With the sun in their eyes but the David Thomas slope in their favour the Blades had their usual strong start but the Iguanas soon warmed up found joy down their strong right wing and managed to squeeze a low shot in between keeper and near post.
The Blades never their let their heads drop however and took the games to Wakehurst again from the kick off. They grabbed the equaliser they so richly deserved when Max Douglas-Robertson neatly turned a defender in the box to give himself a yard and bury the ball in the bottom right hand corner of the net.
BTH did not rest on their laurels and earned themselves a rare lead when Sam Keller, excelling in his more advanced role, finished strongly from just inside the box.
As the half time oranges beckoned, our orange shirted opposition rallied and made sure the two teams entered the break at parity when a speculative lob got lost in the sun and fell through the textile crossbar into the Blades’ goal.
The second half was an open affair but the Iguanas took two of their chances better than the Blades to come out victors.
Player of the week was Benjamin Liu with a typical effervescent performance.

U10 Ravens
U10 BTH Ravens V Curl Curl Pythons
The day was bitterly cold, however we were fired up to take on the Curl Curl Pythons. The game started and like a scene from Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds", the Ravens banded together to produce a ferocious attacking force that quickly became a huge problem to the Curl Curl opposition. We worked hard and it was soon proved that we had a quicker, versatile and more opportunistic defence who strategically fired back balls to our midfield who controlled the centre of the park and fed the attack with machine gun strength and precision. The Ravens pulled off another sensational effort to win 1-0 and sent the Curl Curl Pythons home dismayed and forlorn. Awesome job Ravens and special mentions to Stephen and Billy (joint Man of the Match) who both had a fantastic game and were central to facilitating the win.

Under 10 Rattlers
BTH Rattlers 1 v Wakehurst Tornados 2
The Rattlers played fantastically today in the icy wind, although we didn't win, they played their best. The team's performance is improving every week. The score was 2-1 to the Wakehurst Tornadoes. Well done to Ryder who was the player of the week, who scored our goal and to Amelia who won the outstanding effort award.

WU12/3 Emeralds
Wow! You played so well today – such a mighty team effort with only the minimum 11 players – all on and all in!
There was excellent passing, determination and team play across each line and between each line as we moved the ball backwards and forwards to achieve our 2-0 victory (that could well have been a few more!).
Special thanks to Emilie for donning the gloves for both halves (Was it only once you got to touch the ball?). Congrats also to each and every player for ‘Never giving up!”
Your voting went to Zoe (3 points), Bronte (2) and Emma (1).

WO35/1 Divas
With all hands in and our 1,2,3 Go DIVAS roar we took to the field ready to face the top of the table Wakehurst side. We started strong with the first 10 mins attacking in their half, but their strong defence kept us at bay and and a counter attack saw Wakehurst score their first goal.
We kept our heads up high with plenty of possession and some nice through balls, we pushed and pushed but scoring wasn't to be.
It was a tough game and the score didn't reflect what was happening on the field - the end result was a loss but we fought hard till the whistle blew and all came off without injury and with a well earned appetite for (birthday) cake !!!
