During September, our BTH Raiders purchased a pair of purple socks to help raise awareness of pancreatic cancer, a disease that is on track to becoming the third most common cancer killer in Australia this year.
Our players purchased almost 800 pairs this season and all money raised will go to the Anver Foundation towards pancreatic cancer research and patient support.
#PlayinPurple 2020 runs during the first three weekends of September. Clubs choose which round to play in purple socks. Most BTH Raiders pulled on their socks during the third and final weekend of the fundraiser.
All players, clubs and coaches are encouraged to participate Australia-wide, with a simple change of your local club socks to purple socks for one weekend!
