Match Report | All Age Division 2

Round 8 against St Augustines resulted in a win and a loss. A tough day at the office for the Firsts and a solid win for the Reserves. The key take-aways were:

  1. The attitude, persistence and belief that the Reserves team had, created the luck we needed to finish off the game. Two cracking finishes by Conor and Aidan to seal the three points.

  2. The Firsts team started slowly and paid the price with a 4-1 loss. Augustines were very well drilled and exceptionally quick on the counter.

  • We need to organise ourselves and be more effective during the warm up. It is really hard to get a decent first touch, sprint or make accurate passes if you don’t prepare physically and mentally … and it showed on Saturday.

  • We need to listen to each other during the half time team talks. A little respect goes a long way.

  • I loved our attitude to keep going throughout the match, and to clinch one back at the end was a silver lining in an others difficult game.

Whilst we hold onto a top 4 spot in the Firsts and Reserves, we now need to make sure we bounce back and are ready for a tough match against Mosman this Saturday.
